• DeepView 24:  360-Degrees of Transparent Submarine in Nha Trang

The Vinpearl resort complex on Hon Tre island (Nha Trang) has launched the DeepView24 Submarine, a completely transparent submarine constructed with 360-degrees of acrylic glass. It can carry 24 passengers up to 100 meters below the surface, offering panoramic views of coral reefs, marine life, and a giant shipwreck that has become a living aquarium for fish, oysters, eels, and sea turtles.

The Vinpearl submarine offers travelers an experience that is completely different from diving or snorkeling. It is an opportunity to explore the ecosystems at the bottom of the East Sea. Other tourist submarines cannot offer a comparably immersive experience due to restricted viewports. The 360-degree glass of the DeepView24 transforms its passengers into marine life, floating like bubbles through the ocean's depths.

The DeepView24 was built by Triton Submarines, a Florida-based company that produced the Limiting Factor submersible, which made a record-breaking dive to the ocean’s deepest point in the Mariana Trench, 10,927m below sea level. It is powered by two electric motors and deliberately designed to be environmentally friendly. It produces very little noise and no carbon emissions whatsoever, limiting its impact on the well-being of surrounding marine life as much as possible.

The interior of the submarine is surprisingly luxurious and comfortable. It’s 15.4 meters long, outfitted with cushioned benches and chairs, and has adequate headspace and a wide enough pathway to stand up and walk around. Before submerging, passengers can stand on the top deck, combining a cruise experience with a deep dive.

The VinWonders Luxury Resort

The DeepView24 submarine experience is provided by VinWonders, a resort on Hon Tre Island just off the coast of Nha Trang. The 50 hectare complex also includes one of the biggest theme parks in all of Vietnam, as well as six different luxury resorts, a flower garden, and a water park.

The best way to get to the resort island and the Vinpearl submarine is by cable car. The 3.3kilometer ride over the ocean is one of the longest over-sea cable car journeys in the world. It’s as beautiful when lit up by neon lights at night as it is by day, when the water gimmers in the sun and the world stretches out like a blue marble between the ocean and the sky.
