From Sa Pa, we traveled about 60km to Nhiu Co San village in Sang Ma Sao commune, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province and began our trekking journey. With our porters leading the way to the Ong Chua (Queen Bee) Waterfall, a scenic drive along an awesome stretch of road, constant inclines with multiple charming wooden bridges crossed picturesque landscapes, offering stunning vistas at every turn. A majestic waterfall cascades powerfully down a sheer cliff face, hundreds of meters high, the roar of the cascading water creates a symphony unique to these wild landscapes…

Beyond breathtaking views, the Nhiu Co San trekking route captivates with its diverse flora. Each elevation reveals a unique landscape, from lush, dense forests to towering, imposing cliffs that add an element of adventure to your journey.

The enchanting "Heart Lake" nestled amidst towering mountains is our stop for the rest - this natural wonder isn't a vast lake, but rather a serene pool of water, perfectly shaped like a heart by the artistry of nature. This stop is a “million-dollar view” to admire a sea of cloud beneath, and standing tall before us, majestic Mount Cu Nhu San rises to an impressive height of 2,662 meters.

After reaching a cozy rest shack, it’s time to rest and recharge. We enjoy a hotpot full of wild vegetables while soaking in a crisp mountain chill as evening descends. At night, the sky above is a breathtaking tapestry of stars, twinkling brightly against the velvet darkness. Truly magical.

Before sunrise, several intrepid hikers rose at 3 am, packing their gear and preparing for another challenging ascent towards the summit of Nhiu Co San Mountain. We started our ascent a little later, joining the flow of hikers steadily climbing towards the summit as the moon bathed the forest in its silvery light, punctuated by the occasional flash of headlamps. Sunrise greeted us as we trekked upwards, reaching for the summit. To reach the summit, we trekked across a breathtaking grove of ancient moss-covered trees, shrouded in an ethereal mist…

On the way back, we witnessed spectacular views in different tones. “Falling in love with nature in the simplest things” - is a message I felt in every step finding solace in the embrace of nature…
