A nostalgic tramway reborn

Inspired by the historic ground-level tram system that served Hanoians for nearly a century (1901–1991), the new Line 6 Street Tram Experience re-imagines this beloved symbol right in the heart of the city.

Leng Keng Echoes - Following the Traces of Hanoi’s Old Tram

Along the edge of Truc Bach Lake, two-storey tram carriages have been transformed into a unique “street museum”, linking iconic cultural and spiritual landmarks such as Quan Thanh Temple, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Thuy Trung Tien Temple, and the Ngu Xa bronze-casting craft village. Visitors don’t just observe heritage, they experience it with all five senses: see, hear, touch, taste and feel.

Nine stops - nine immersive encounters

Each tram carriage acts as a mini gallery, sharing intimate stories of Hanoi’s lifestyle, cuisine and artisanal traditions.

Highlights include:

  • Quan Thanh Temple: one of the Four Sacred Temples of Thang Long.
  • Thuy Trung Tien Temple: Discover the Mother Goddess worship tradition and enjoy a live Chau Van performance by the lake.
  • Pho & Noodle Carriage: Explore the culinary heritage behind Vietnam’s famous pho and noodle craft.
  • Coffee Carriage: Learn to brew trending salt coffee while uncovering Vietnam’s vibrant café culture.
  • Authentic Subsidised-Era Apartment: Step inside a restored living space from Hanoi’s not-so-distant past.
  • The Subsidised-Era Kitchen: Travel back to the 20th century to taste nostalgic dishes such as rice with cassava and sweet potato.
  • Ngu Xa Bronze Craft Exhibition House: Admire centuries-old craftsmanship and meet local artisans.
  • Rice & Green Sticky Rice Carriage: Try your hand at making Hanoi’s signature green sticky rice cakes (bánh cốm).
  • Tea Culture & Hanoi’s Eight Refined Pleasures: Enjoy a serene tea ritual while discovering the elegant pastimes once cherished by Hanoians.
