The grand palaces in the Forbidden City broke ground in the 4th year of Emperor Yongle's reign – an outstanding emperor of the Ming dynasty and one of China's most brilliant rulers (in 1406) – and were completed after 14 years (in 1420). Due to policy changes, online tickets must be purchased 1 week prior to the visit date. In peak periods when the service provider cannot book tickets, the company will replace it with the attraction “Prince Gong Mansion”, also known as Heshen Mansion; to this day, this structure remains fully intact despite having passed through more than 2 centuries. Or “Yonghe Temple” – the temporary palace of Emperor Yongzheng when he was still a prince and also the birthplace of Emperor Qianlong. This is considered the "birthplace" of two Qing dynasty emperors, becoming a "blessed land of the Hidden Dragon", thus built to specifications similar to the Forbidden City, with yellow tiles and red walls. (If unable to visit the Palace Museum, it also means unable to visit Tiananmen Square).
