Vietnam to welcome fully vaccinated travelers to Phu Quoc Island

Sep 15, 2021 | Press Release

HANOI, Vietnam (Sep. 15, 2021) -- Vietnam intends to reopen its borders to fully vaccinated travelers to Phu Quoc Island, the Deputy Prime Minister said in a statement issued on September 9 2021.

These steps will hasten Vietnam’s smooth return to world tourism. A multi-awarded destination for heritage, cultural, culinary and golf travel, the country welcomed 18 million international visitors in 2019, an increase of more than double compared to 2015.

Phu Quoc Island - Vietnam’s best-kept secret, is home to some of the most beautiful white sand beaches in South East Asia, with superior snorkelling within a UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserve. From forest treks in a huge national park, to wellness retreats ending in Vietnam's most spectacular sunsets, to a safari, water park and the world's longest cable car, to night markets and local cuisine -- visitors will find plenty of experiences to share and remember. Group tours, families, and independent travelers of all ages can look forward to a surprising yet relaxing trip.

A campaign “Live Fully in Vietnam” will be launched to promote the reopening of Vietnam tourism, starting with the “Roam Phu Quoc” travel programme.

Vietnam is excited to welcome the world to Phu Quoc, and for you to discover the timeless charm that keeps people coming back. See you in Phu Quoc!
