Vietnam Set to Host First National Summit on Travel & Tourism

HANOI, Vietnam (Nov. 15, 2018) — Leaders in tourism from the public and private sectors will converge in the capital on December 5 & 6 for the Vietnam Travel & Tourism Summit 2018, the first national tourism forum of its kind to be held in the country.

Interested individuals are invited to register for the event, hosted by the Private Sector Development Committee (PSD), and co-organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), the Vietnam Tourism Advisory Board (TAB), and VnExpress newspaper, with the support of Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

Over the course of two days, the forum aims to analyse and discuss current challenges facing Vietnam’s travel industry, and propose solutions to boost the sustainable development of tourism nationwide. The summit will also give investors a thorough look at strategies, objectives, and opportunities within Vietnam’s tourism landscape.

More than 1,500 delegates, 500 CEOs, and 300 experts are expected to attend the summit, led by H.E. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, as well as H.E. Minister Mai Tien Dung, Chairman of the Office of the Government.

The forum will feature two key sessions titled, ‘Potential Opportunities and Strategic Planning for Sustainable Development Efficiency’ and ‘Making Tourism a Spearhead Economic Sector of Vietnam’, with reports and speeches delivered by prominent figures from Air Asia, World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and others.

Vietnam Travel & Tourism Summit 2018 will be held at the Intercontinental Hanoi Landmark 72 on December 5 and 6, 2018.
