International New Year's Day, also known as Western New Year, is a public holiday commemorating the new year's start.
It is a day off for the general population, and most businesses are closed, which gives people a good opportunity to go out, meet others and participate in exciting trips. Also, on holiday, fireworks are held in some of the country's largest cities, including Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City. Even though Vietnamese inhabitants consider Lunar New Year their official traditional New Year, they are looking forward to taking in the lively and anticipating the fireworks displays, which deliver messages of love, peace, and prosperity to the whole nation.
