Vietnamese Tet, also known as Tet Nguyen Dan or simply Tet, is the most important festival in Vietnamese culture. During Tet, visitors will capture the colours of red, yellow, pink and orange, which embodies the Vietnamese yearning for peace, happiness and prosperity. Every home, every street corner is cleaned and decorated with beautiful peach blossoms or kumquat trees. Chưng cake is an important component of the celebrations. Warm wishes are much appreciated around and during Tet. On the first days of the lunar new year, smile and say “Chúc Mừng Năm Mới” (Happy New Year) to everyone you see!
